It is important to know the following:

  • Resident District - The school district in which the student resides or primary residence. A primary residence is defined by the address of the biological/adoptive parent or other person having court appointed legal custody of the student, regardless of where the student physically lives.

  • Serving District - The school district in which the magnet school you attend is located.  Example: University Avenue Elementary is an Anoka-Hennepin magnet school so in that case Anoka-Hennepin is the serving district.

COVID-19/Magnet School 2020 Information

Governor Tim Walz announced new guidance that Schools/School Districts may start transitioning all students to In-Person or Hybrid starting Wednesday, February 17.  Please see schedule below.   More detailed information can be found on your serving district's website.

Transportation InformationThe goal of NWSISD and CST-MN is to bring safe and efficient routing solutions to a multi-district and geographically large transportation area. With guidance from MDH and MDE, our bus contractors are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of the students we transport as well as our drivers. Below is a a list of criteria that CST-MN and its vendors are following:

  • CST-MN’s routing team will systematically review and evaluate the routing to create as much space between the riders.
  • Face coverings will be required by all riders. Extra face coverings will be in the vehicles in case a student forgets their face covering.
  • 6 feet distance between the driver and all riders will be maintained.
  • Transportation vehicles will be cleaned and disinfected regularly, focusing on frequent cleaning of touched surfaces in the vehicle (e.g., surfaces near the driver’s seat, hard seats, door handles, seat belt buckles, light and air controls, doors and windows, grab handles) between routes.
  • Capacity will be limited to 50% capacity for the scenario 2 (hybrid) model.
  • Additional capacity guidelines can be found on your serving district's website.

NWSISD's Transportation Guidelines can be found on the Transportation page.
