Kinder Van Gogh's create Sunflowers

Kindergarten students at Rockford Elementary Arts Magnet School learned all about sunflowers in their classrooms.  This translated into learning about Vincent Van Gogh and other impressionist artists in art class.  Soon the kindergarten art students were painting their own versions of a sunflower using Impressionism techniques.

Some of these techniques include short thick strokes of paint to capture the essence of the subject, rather than its details. Color can be applied side-by-side with little mixing to make the colors appear more lively to the viewer.
