Magnet Lottery and Application

The magnet lottery application portal system closed for the school year on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.  If you submitted an application and were not assigned to your school of choice you were placed on a wait list for your first choice school. Wait lists were sent to each school and enrollment centers the week of May 1.

If you have NOT submitted an application, contact the magnet school of choice or district enrollment center about seat availability and/or to be placed on a wait list for school year 2020-21.

Families who wish to enroll their child in a magnet school are required to complete and submit an online application.  The link for the application form will be provided on this page and on our homepage.  The priority application time period starts mid-October and goes through December 31.  The application portal will re-open in mid-January with a second lottery taking place in mid-March.  A timeline of magnet lottery events will be provided annually.

An application must be submitted for each child from the same household that is applying.  An application must be submitted if the applicant is a sibling of a child currently at the magnet school of choice, by the priority deadline, to be considered for a seat during the first lottery.

NWSISD will conduct a lottery if the number of applicants exceeds the number of available seats.  Applicants may choose up to two magnet schools in order of preference on the application.

Do you live within the NWSISD boundary? Anoka-Hennepin, Brooklyn Center, Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose, ISD728 (Elk River Area), Fridley, Osseo, and Rockford school districts comprise Northwest Suburban Integration School District.
